Spicers Retreats are one of Australia's leading boutique accommodation providers with luxury retreats and experiences in some of Australia's most unique locations. Previously owned by the Turner family (founders and major shareholders of The Flight Centre Group), it was recently acquired by global accommodation investment firm, Salter Brothers
Operating in a very specialised and competitive sector of the luxury accommodation sector, with most of their properties having stand-alone restaurants with unique offerings, Spicers required an overarching SEO and Content Strategy with a focus on a local search strategy for their restaurants.
By also being in a highly competitive and highly seasonal market, with also a large percentage of their bookings for each property being made via Online Travel Agents (OTAs), one of the requirements was also to obtain more bookings directly.
Initially we implemented a robust Local Search Campaign which included a review of their NAP/Citation consistency together with local citation building and an advanced building and outreach program with also a focus on Google My Business review and optimisations.
This was followed recently with an over-arching SEO strategy for the Spicers Retreat website which included both on-site and off-site optimisation strategies and content updates.
After 2 months of SEO Local Search optimisations, Spicers Retreats individual restaurants rankings moved up into the top 3 positions on Local Search. To date most restaurants now appear in postion 1 or 2.
Overall website rankings have seen improvements month after month with many individual locations appearing in either postion 1 or in the top 5.
